Faculty Senate November Update

Future Call for Course Proposals

The Office of General Education (OGE) announced a future call for course proposals on Nov. 2, including resources to assist proposers in anticipation of the Spring 2023 call.

The Enrollment Management division of OGE will continue to work closely with program coordinators across the University to ensure an efficient return to UAccess as the course management system for submitting General Education proposals.

ABOR Materials

In late October and early November, OGE composed portions of the General Education Written Communication Assessment Report, a document compiled by all three Arizona universities to present to ABOR on Nov. 3.

Additionally, OGE continues to develop a "Crosswalk," which is what ABOR calls a spreadsheet articulating approved General Education courses to ABOR policy 2-210. This spreadsheet includes all currently approved courses (with the caveat the list is dynamic). The spreadsheet is in draft form and will be presented to ABOR later this academic year along with a narrative explanation of how our GE curriculum aligns with policy.

Provisionally Approved Courses & Status

As of Nov. 1, there are 112 remaining courses to be reviewed, 90 of which have provisional approval.
