Dec. Tech Tip: Use UAccess to Learn About Your Spring Students

There are many useful reasons to learn student names, such as increasing belonging, creating community, and highlighting student individuality. One way to prepare for your Spring 2022 courses is to focus on the data available in UAccess. In the Instructor Center you can find a photo roster of your students as well as their preferred pronouns. You can then use a software like Quizlet to make flashcards of your students’ names and photos. We also encourage you to invite students to record their names in the first week of class in their introductions to help with pronunciation and encourage students to have autonomy over what they are called.
