Key Updates for Spring 2023 Proposal Submissions

If you previously submitted a course proposal form during Spring 2021-Spring 2022, please note these KEY CHANGES to the submission process/requirements:

  • The GenEd Course Proposal Form has been updated with minor changes (Nov 2022). Please be sure that you are using the updated course proposal form for Spring 2023 submissions, available in both the Self-Paced Quick Start and Sp23 Quick Start Live-Online mini-courses.  If you have already completed Quick Start or have difficulty locating the new form, please email Katie Southard to request the updated Course Proposal Form.

  • We are returning to the UAccess proposal submission system. Proposals will no longer be submitted via Qualtrics as part of the 2021-2022 expedited submission process. Please follow our Course Proposal Submission and Routing Guidelines.

  • Both a course proposal form AND updated syllabus are required for submission. Please be sure your syllabus is in alignment with university policies

  • The window to SUBMIT course proposals will OPEN on March 20, 2023. At this time, we do not anticipate closing the submission window at any point but will continue to accept proposals on a rolling basis. Please be aware of Curricular Affairs review deadlines for course proposals.

  • Note: If you have already completed the GE Quick Start, then it is not necessary to take it again; however, there have been updates to the Quick Start content to clarify curricular elements and support proposal preparation. Proposers are welcome to re-take either modality if helpful! Registration information here

  • Reminder: All courses must carry at least 3 student learning outcomes (SLOs) to meet UA course proposal submission requirements. Most GE courses will carry one SLO related to the GE curricular category (EP/BC), one or two SLOs related to the Attribute(s), and 1-3 SLOs related to the specifics of the unique course.
