Portrait of Amanda Parkman
she, her, hers

I’m a disabled first-generation college graduate. I grew up in Tucson and earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Arizona. My bachelor’s degree was in Family Studies and Human Development and my master’s degree was in Higher Education. I began my professional career in higher education working at THINK TANK for eight years. For the majority of my time at THINK TANK, I was an academic coach supporting first-year students and students on academic recovery navigate and succeed at the university. Prior to joining the General Education team, I was with Leadership Programs where I supported the coordination of Blue Chip Leadership which included teaching leadership development courses. I am excited to continue supporting UA students in a faculty role with the General Education program. A little about me beyond my professional background – I enjoy traveling, I’m an avid TV watcher, and I can easily escape into a good book (including audiobooks). During my commute I enjoy listening to podcasts. And all my hobbies are always better with food.
