Participate in a university-wide assessment of student writing!

The Office of General Education and the Office of Instruction and Assessment invite you to contribute to the university-wide assessment of student writing. UArizona’s assessment of written communication will help identify how Writing Across the Curriculum can support university students to meet demands for writing in their future professions. We are seeking instructors to read and evaluate student writing samples. Participants will receive a $500 stipend* and will be acknowledged with a certificate of completion. 

Your participation includes:   

  • Asynchronous training tasks via D2L in April.
  • Asynchronous and synchronous scoring of 50  student writing samples in May.
  • Opportunities to discuss student writing with instructors across the curriculum.

You will also have a chance to think more deeply about institutional program assessment versus classroom assessment, effectively designing writing assignments, and the role of  foundations writing, general education writing courses, and writing courses in the major.
