Support Your Students' Research with University of Arizona Libraries
As we settle into the fall semester, we invite you to explore how the University of Arizona Libraries (UAL) can support your students. Our team assists students at every stage of their research journey, from developing questions to finding, evaluating, and citing resources.
Please share the following resources with your students:
Research Consultations: Students can book one-on-one or group sessions with a librarian for personalized guidance on any aspect of their research projects, from developing a strong question to finding credible sources and managing citations.
Workshops and Tutorials: Students can attend our workshops to learn essential research skills, such as effectively using library databases, managing citations, and finding specialized resources. If they can't attend in person, our online tutorials and guides are available anytime for on-demand support.
Of special note is this November 14th Workshop: Uncovering the Truth: Navigating Online Information with the SIFT Method: In a world filled with misinformation, learning to evaluate online content is more important than ever. This workshop introduces the SIFT method (Stop, Investigate, Find, Trace) to help you uncover the truth in online information. Through interactive activities and real-world examples, you’ll develop essential skills to critically assess sources, verify facts, and make informed decisions.
Featured Resource: Student Guide to Chat GPT: As students begin their research projects, they can use our guide, “Using Chat GPT to Generate a Research Topic,” which helps them kick-start their research. This tool can be used individually or in class to inspire new ideas and focus research efforts.
For Faculty:
Course-Integrated Instruction: Partner with us to bring research skills directly into your classroom. We can help design tailored resources and activities aligned with your course objectives, ensuring your students are equipped with essential information literacy skills.
