Tuesdays from 10-11am in room B254 at the Main Library (In-person, begins 10/18)

Please see the details below and if you are interested, sign up HERE.

In this mid-semester Faculty Learning Community, we will work with a cohort of up to ten faculty and instructors to adapt an existing assignment or create a new assignment that incorporates experiential learning with CATalyst Studios as a partner. Facilitators Jen Nichols and Rachel Castro will lead a series of workshops that explore experiential learning, how it can be used to provide new modes of learning, ways to assess outcomes, and will culminate is each registrant developing and pitching an experiential learning assignment to be used in a future semester.

Here is the schedule:

10/18: Introduction to experiential learning and exploring examples of previous activities.

10/25: A tour of CATalyst Studios with orientation of technology and services

11/1: Select a course assignment to create or adapt to include experiential learning with CATalyst as a partner

11/8: NO MEETING- if registrants would like to get feedback on their assignment prior to their pitch they can schedule a one-on-one meeting with CATalyst Staff

11/15: Pitch your assignment idea. Get peer feedback and notes.

11/22: Next steps- discuss assessment, creating a community of advocates, and explore opportunities for futher engagement.
