BUILDING CONNECTIONS

9 units

Building Connections courses expose students to interdisciplinary and multi-perspective approaches to thinking about big ideas, addressing challenges, and/or solving problems.

LEARNING OUTCOME

Students will demonstrate the ability to utilize multiple perspectives and make meaningful connections across disciplines and social positions, think conceptually and critically, and solve problems.

The perspectives highlighted in a Building Connections course are not restricted to the categories of Exploring Perspectives (Artist, Humanist, Natural Scientist, Social Scientist). Building Connections courses may also include perspectives from pertinent social positions.

Individual or Team Teaching

Individual Instructor

The individual Building Connections instructor is intentional about bringing in materials from multiple perspectives. These materials might be complimented with guest lectures, media presentations, community engagements, etc.

Team Teaching

A team of faculty from different corners of campus may collaborate around a shared question or issue for a Building Connections course.
