Meg Chandler, Ed.D.
Hi friends! I’m Meg Chandler, a lifetime educator here in Tucson. My passion and joy as an instructor is to design innovative and engaging courses with inquiry, collaboration, and well-being as a framework for learning. Prior to joining the General Education team, I was a high school science teacher, where I taught biology, ecology, and chemistry. With student relationships and mentoring at the core, I created interdisciplinary and expeditionary learning experiences to guide young people toward finding their passions and purpose. I also became a K—12 administrator responsible for cohesive curriculum, instruction, and assessment in my school community, and included mentoring the next generation of teachers.
My academic journey began here at the University of Arizona with a bachelor’s in biology and secondary education, followed with a master’s in biology. I completed my doctorate at Baylor University in Learning and Organizational Change, where my scholarship focused on human flourishing in the educational landscape. I’m currently exploring positive psychology frameworks as an intersection of instructional practice and teacher & student flourishing. When I’m not in the classroom, I’m outside camping, hiking, or exploring nature. I love to travel the world with my daughter, always seeking adventure, laughter, and joy.
